I have made many a pecan pie. This recipe is the best by far. By cooking the ingredients per the recipe, you avoid a grainy or undercooked pie - 2 of the pitfalls of making pecan pie!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsps. vanilla
- 1 cup pecan pieces or whole pecans
- 1 9-inch pie crust, unbaked
Instructions
- Mix the brown sugar and flour in a saucepan.
- Add corn syrup, butter and salt.
- Warm over low heat, just until butter is melted.
- In a medium bowl, beat eggs with vanilla.
- Stir in sugar mixture and pour into pie shell.
- Add nuts.
- Bake below center of oven at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes, or until filling is set in center.
- Cool before cutting.
