Ingredients
  1. 2 Tbsp. butter
  2. 1/4 cup flour
  3. 3 cans chicken broth
  4. 4 cups cooked wild rice
  5. 1/2 tsp. salt
  6. 1 cup half and half
  7. 1/3 cup chicken, turkey or ham
  8. 1/3 cup shredded carrots
  9. 1/4 cup finely diced onion
  10. 1/3 cup finely chopped celery
  11. 1-2 Tbsp. cheese whiz
  12. 1 cup slivered almonds
Instructions
  1. Melt butter in saucepan.
  2. Saute onions, carrots and celery until tender.
  3. Blend in flour, add broth.
  4. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened.
  5. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 15 minutes.
  6. If you want to make ahead and freeze, do not add cheese whiz and half and half until ready to serve).
