This recipe can be doubled or let to sit in a crockpot on low (after cooking beef separately that is). I also make my own chili seasoning. However, if you must use the packet from the store, I guess you must :)

Ingredients
  1. 1 lb hamburger
  2. 1/4 of an onion if you wish - can be ommitted
  3. 1 16 oz can of diced or crushed tomatoes
  4. 1 can of Campbells tomato soup (I know..weird, but it really does something special)
  5. 1 can of chili beans
  6. 1 chili spice packet or the chili seasoning below.
Chili Seasoning
  1. 4 teaspoons chili powder
  2. 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
  3. 1 tablespoon onion powder
  4. 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  5. 2 teaspoons white sugar
  6. 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  7. 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  8. 2 teaspoons salt
  9. 1 teaspoon dried basil
  10. 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
  1. Brown burger and onion together then drain - return it to the pan or put it in a crockpot.
  2. add remaining ingredients.
  3. Let this sit on low in the crockpot for at least 2 hours or simmer on the stove for at least half an hour.
